Obituary for Marlene Loise Walter Beckhart

Marlene Loise Walter, age 82, of Louisville, passed away December 11, 2017. She was born on May 2, 1935 to the late Paul Walter and Goldie Pierce Walter. Marlene was an active member at Southeast Christian Church since 1965 and was a staff member at Tully Elementary for 15 years. In November of 1955 she married the love of her life, the late Donnie Beckhart.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Monzelle Quire (Stanley), Connie Franck (Chester), Gladean Blume (Frank); and brother, Doug Walter.
She is survived by her devoted children, Dwane Beckhart, Doug (Cherri) Beckhart, and Robin Beckhart; her grandchildren, Keenan Beckhart, Charlie Davis, and Alex Davis (Jessica); step grandchildren, Ashlee, Audrey and Patterson Moore; and great grandchildren, Maddie, Sawyer, and Kenslee; her sister, Pat Klefot (Jack); sister in law, Mary Beth Walter (Doug); many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews that she loved very much; as well as lifelong friends that meant the world to her.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Louisville, KY 40205.
Visitation will be from 2 - 8 on Wednesday at Highlands and Thursday after 10 a.m. until time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southeast Christian Church, and The Healing Place.
