Elmer Pete, 87, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Friday, December 8th, 2017.
Elmer was a graduate of St. Elizabeth grade school and St. Xavier High School. An accomplished businessman, Elmer owned and operated Auto Wheel & Rim, a family-run business for over 60 years.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Helen Beatrice Herm Bauer; sister, Roselee Bauer Westenhofer and brother, Joseph Bauer.
He is survived by his eight children, Larry (Jude), Steve (Sandy), Mark (Carol), Becky Becht (Darrell), Vicki Buehner (Rick), Greg (Karen), Stacy London (Chris) and Chris (Bill); 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Albert the Great, 1395 Girard Dr. with burial in St. Michael Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or St. Xavier High School.
