Obituary for Etta Rae Hirsch

Etta Rae Hirsch
Etta Rae Hirsch, 80 years young, passed away surrounded by family, peacefully and with dignity on Monday, September 4, 2017 at her son and caregivers home, Gary Jay Hirsch.
She was born November 11, 1936 to the late Jack I. and Lillian (Sofan) Hirsch. Etta Rae was a lifetime member of Keneseth Israel Congregation. She was also a member of The National Council-Jewish Women, a lifetime member of Hadassah and Sisterhood.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Jay Hirsch and Martin Alan Hirsch; sister, Barbara Schneider; and her precious grandchild, Michael Lee Hirsch.
On behalf of Etta Rae and Gary we would personally like to thank all the people for going above and beyond. First, the staff of Cave Hill Cemetery, where she was employed for over 38 years, assisted over 20,000 families and was given the title of "Miss Cave Hill". Second, her beloved friends, neighbors, and family members that rose to the occasion to always be there to offer help when needed. And last, but not least, special thanks to all of my special and dear friends for the phone calls, texts and endless conversations that went, "above and beyond". Words can not begin to describe your love, support and tireless efforts to assist me and my beloved mother during our almost two year battle with cancer.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue. Please enter the cemetery at the Grinstead Gate.
In lieu of flowers, Gary requests that expressions of sympathy in Etta Rae's memory be made to Keneseth Israel Congregation, Gilda's Club, or the donor's charity of choice.
