Ruth Evelyn, 94, passed away July 27, 2017 at Willows at Hamburg in Lexington, KY.
Born on November 8, 1922, in Louisville, to Ernest and Hallie Huff, she spent most her childhood in Clarkson, KY where she graduated from Clarkson High School.
After graduating she moved to Louisville where she was a longtime member of Fourth Ave. United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Fame Class and Circle Chair for 25 years and the Women’s Auxiliary of the First Armored Division.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Stanley H. Line.
She is survived by her son, Stanley David Line (Nell) of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Kathryn Williams Line and David Spencer Line, both of Charlotte, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her service will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Bluegrass Hospice Care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fourth Ave. Methodist Church or Bluegrass Hospice Care.
