Thomas, Anita Catherine, 79, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Born in Louisville, the former Anita Hommrich was a graduate of Presentation High School, and a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was all about family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing golf at Hurstbourne Country Club and worked at Louisville Bedding for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Huberta Hommrich; and brothers, Frank, Jr., Richard, Paul, Jerry and Jim Hommrich.
Anita is survived by her husband of 58 years, Louis Thomas; children, Lori Jones (Louie), Lisa Webb (Dickey), Amy Besendorf (Drew), and Chris Thomas (Gina); siblings, Jean Pitcock, Doris Hall, Claire Frantz (Sonny), Lois White (Ritchie), Fr. Tom Hommrich, and Steve Hommrich (Diane); grandchildren, Brian (Anna), Matthew (Chrissy), Christopher, Kayla, Rachel, Andrew, Aly and Jack; and great-grandchildren, Mason and Noah.
Her funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:00 am, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Road, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
