66, of Louisville, KY, died January 8th, 2017 at Norton Audubon Hospital. Shawn passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

He was preceded in death by his father William McGill and nephew Tommy Van Slaven.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Burgess; three sons Shawn Jr. (Tonya), Garrett (Kasey), and Mitch (Erin), daughter Shayna Lambert (Clint), his mother, Betty Beach McGill, three sisters, Robin Williams, Terry McGill, and Patty Lambert . He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Shawn retired from Philip Morris after 30 years of service. He worked for many years at Village 8 after his retirement. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, the proud owner of a Harley Davidson, a member of B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse) Central Bluegrass Chapter and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Derby City Lodge #2173 where he won the Eagle of the year award. He has made scores of friends wherever he went and is loved by many.

His services will be at Highlands Funeral Home located at 3331 Taylorsville Rd with visitation Friday, January 13, 2pm-4pm and Saturday, from 11 am until the 1 pm service at the funeral home Burial will be immediately following funeral services at Louisville Memorial Gardens, West, 4400 Dixie Highway. Reception to follow funeral at Derby City Eagles 201 Outer Loop. All are welcome to celebrate Shawn's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Shawn's name to the Kentucky chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse at PO Box 1286 Russellville, KY 42276. -
