Obituary for Herbert Kennedy Swindler

SWINDLER,
Herbert Kennedy, 91, of Louisville, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015.
He was a WWII Navy veteran who served in the Solomon Islands and retired as a manager from South Central Bell. He volunteered for KY Harvest delivering food to the missions for 22 years and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Elizabeth Cherry Swindler; daughters, Dr. Susan Lyle (Michael) and Rev. Rebecca Curry (Ken); brother, Clyde Swindler; grandchildren, Rev. Mary Beth Bernheisel (Jay), Michael Curry (Lynsey) and David Curry (Amanda); four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 9 at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 319 Browns Ln. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
