WELLMAN, Robert L., 87, of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Baptist Health.
Born in Louisville, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and graduated from UofL in 1951, where he played basketball. He was the Vice President and an Optician at Southern Optical for 35 years, and was a member of the Guild of Opticians of America, KY Society of Opticians, National Contact Lens Society and the Southeast YMCA. He was also a member of the Lions Club, where he held every position.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Wellman; and grandson, Taylor Mouser.
He is survived by his children, Jan E. Mouser (Charlie), Kevin L. Wellman (Jeanann) and Kim E. Hamnett; sister, Virginia Littell; grandchildren, Mystique, Lauren and Devin; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brenner and Avaya; and beloved dog, Schultzie.
Bob’s funeral service will be at 10:00 on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Tuesday at Highlands.
