Obituary for Violet Juanita Youngblood

Youngblood, Violet "Juanita", 89, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her home of fifty seven years.

She was born in Middleburg, KY on September 14, 1924 to William and Mary Ellis Lucas and grew up in Cincinnati, OH. She moved to Louisville in 1957 and worked as a bookkeeper for Louisville Crown until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty six years, Oury Youngblood and her oldest son, Steven.

She is survived by her son, Gregory Lee Youngblood, six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist and was passionate about gardening, quilting and the Cincinnati Reds.

She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than her family and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be Friday at 11 am at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Rd with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral from 9-11 am at the church.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her loving caregivers, Sherry Edlin and Kathy Breneman.
