Carole Baker Hinton, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2018. She was born July 2, 1936, to William and Evelyn Baker. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, F Gerald “Jerry” Hinton, and their three children: Theresa Hinton (Rick) of Charlottesville,Virginia; Steve Hinton (Linda) of Chicago, Illinois; Amy Forsee (David) of Bardstown, Kentucky; three grandchildren: William Drake (Catherine), Kelly Hinton and Baker Forsee; two great-grandchildren (Arya and Asher Drake); two sisters: Joy Brennan and Wanda Crosier, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial visitation will be held 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, Kentucky, 40205. The memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 5:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Christ Church United Methodist or the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter. SMITH, Celestine “Teeny” R. Breeden, 85, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Baptist East Hospital. Teeny was an avid sports fan that competed in various sports until late in life. She and her husband were members of Southeast Christian Church and volunteers for Meals on Wheels for many years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Earl James Smith, Sr.; her parents; and granddaughter, Jessica Smith. Teeny is survived by her son, Earl J. Smith, Jr. (Marlene); sister, Sue Jarett (Bill); several nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at Highlands with entombment to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Stella Ann Nuss Thompson, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018. She is retired from the Jefferson County Public School System after 30 years of teaching and working in budgeting administration. She taught 8th grade math on television to many of the city's baby boomers. She graduated from Atherton High School and graduated from The University of Louisville with a B.A. degree in math and a master's degree in education. Stella was preceeded in death by her daughter, Sandra Jones and her son, John Thompson along with her brothers Alvin and C. W. Nuss and her sister Virginia Lewis. She is survived by her husband, Jack V. Thompson; sister, Alice Summers; son, James S. Thompson (Karen); daughter, Jeanne P. Werner (Larry); daughter-in-law, Cynthia Thompson; two granddaughters, Kimberly Thompson and Lauren Werner (Jorge); two grandsons, Jacob Werner (Breana) and Joshua Thompson (Elizabeth); and great grandchildren Wyatt, Benjamin, and Evelyn Werner; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Stella’s funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. She will be missed more than words can say and only the heart can feel. HENNESSEY, Margaret Ruth, 89, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Nazareth Home. She was born in Detroit, MI and graduated from Marygrove College. She was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. Marg was a very loving and caring aunt, who loved to travel and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Don and Jane Hennessey; brother, Ed D. Hennessey, II; and sisters, Sr. Mary of the Incarnation and Grace Kleine-Kracht. She is survived by fourteen nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; several great-great-nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Noel Hennessey. Her funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at Highlands. Burial will take place in Detroit, MI on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Nazareth Home.
