Choosing Cremation

People choose cremation for different reasons:
  • Cremation offers more affordability compared to a traditional burial that involves the purchase of a casket and cemetery space.
  • It's a simpler option that allows more flexibility and personalization for memorials, celebrations of life, and the burial or scattering of ashes.
  • There are environmental concerns about burial space and embalming chemicals that may be used for a burial.

If you've decided on cremation, you may have a number of questions.

Our owners and staff are here to provide answers and offer choices that meet your needs:
  • "Can I see my loved one before the cremation takes place?”
  • “How do I know the ashes are those of my loved one and not someone else’s?”
  • "Do people have visitations or services when someone is cremated?"
  • "Where does the cremation take place?"
  • “How are they transported? Who takes them?”
  • "What about the cost?"

Cremation caskets are made entirely of wood so that they can be a part of the actual cremation process. They serve as a beautiful part of any funeral service.

For families who want to hold funeral services before cremation, their loved will rest in the casket so the body is present for the visitation and funeral service. We refer to this as "traditional cremation," as it has elements of what most people associate with a traditional casket funeral.

A body present for a traditional cremation may be embalmed for viewing.
