Charles David "David"  Mattingly
MATTINGLY,
Charles “David”, 92, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, March 08, 2018, at his residence.
A native of Marion Co., he was born to Joseph Bryan and Bridgett Russell Mattingly in Loretto Kentucky. He graduated from St. Charles High School and Kentucky College of Barbering, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

David worked for Enro Shirt Co., was a master barber in South Louisville, his shop was located at Hazelwood and Wheeler Ave., and later retired from Ford Motor Co. He was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes. He enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, traveling and he was an avid basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ruben and sisters, Benita and Eudora. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Rita Settles; two sons, Joseph Allen (Kae) and Thomas “Gary” Mattingly; six grandchildren, Michael Joseph, Christopher Allen (Karen), Miranda (Sean), Lindsey (Michael) and Mallory (Billy); 8 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Simeon and Joseph Bryan, Jr. (Betty) Mattingly; four sisters, Mary Francis Conn, Emma Jean Miles, Mary B. Mattingly and Ann Sophia Barr, and also his brother –in-law, Red Walker and many nieces and nephews.

His Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes, 508 Breckenridge Ln. with burial in National Cemetery in Lebanon, KY.
Visitation will be from 4-8PM, Wednesday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
