Ann Elizabeth Klapheke Schuler
Schuler, Ann Elizabeth Klapheke, passed away February 7, 2018, at Jefferson Place with her family at her bedside after struggling with lung disease.
Ann was born on May 20,1938 in Louisville, KY. She graduated from Presentation Academy in 1956 and maintained lifelong friendships with her “Pres girls”. Ann was lovingly married to Don Schuler for 59 years. Her true passion was her family. She was a devoted caretaker of both her daughter, Denise, and her husband, Don, until their deaths. Ann had a true servant’s heart and was always encouraging, energetic, and quick to offer a helping hand to others. She worked as a traffic guard, at Charlane Bath Boutique, and The Paul Schultz Company. Ann was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and president of the Colonelettes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Elizabeth Klapheke,, her husband Don Schuler Sr, her daughter Denise Schuler Becker, and her brother, John Klapheke Jr.
Ann is survived by her sons Don Schuler, Jr (Martha) of Louisville, Michael Schuler (Helen) of Branchburg, NJ, son-in-law Steve Becker of Louisville, sister Virginia “Ginny” Faulkner, Olathe, KS, and sisters-in-law Marilyn Schuler of Stevensville, MD and Rita Schuler Mudd (Pat) of Venice, FL. Ann doted on her seven grandchildren with whom she had a very special bond: Brittany (Nate), Ryan (Anna), Amy (David), Michelle (Jon), Allison, Christina, Joseph and great-grandson Cole.
A funeral Mass will be held February 12, at 10:00AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Road, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
