Obituary for Alexander Charles Sabo

Alexander C. 77, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
Born in Wheelwright, KY, in 1940, son of a coal miner, he moved to Louisville after attending Berea College, and attended UofL School of Dentistry. He became part of a rotation of several brothers and sisters, brought to Louisville, one at a time for advanced education, each helping the other while working part time until all were educated accountants, nurses, dentists, teachers, ad infinitum. His service to the community spanned 50 years and his commitment to help others never wavered. His generous, conscientious service to the profession of dentistry and his patients will be missed by any and all who knew him. He was a 50 year member of the Louisville Dental Society and the Kentucky Dental Association and was a master woodcarver, particularly focused on Western figures.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe and Mike Kohler; sister, Mildred Sabo; and stepdaughter, Jennifer Vissing.He is survived by his wife Marjorie Brannon Sabo; children, Alex Sabo, Jr., Brian Sabo, Laura Sabo; stepdaughter, Jan Hunter; sisters, Thelma Conway and Vickie Robinson; brothers, Albert, Bill and Thomas Sabo; and three grandchildren.
In lieu of services, cremation was chosen. Highlands Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
