After marriage she was a homemaker and loving mother until she returned to work at the age of 50 as a secretary to the Dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Louisville. Ethel loved the Lord, her Monday luncheon bible study and her Sunday school class at St. Matthews Baptist Church. Prior to attending St. Matthews Baptist Church, she was a member of Walnut Street Baptist and Jeffersontown Baptist Churches. She also loved reading, sewing, quilting, cooking, and watching U of L sports. But most of all, she enjoyed her family and friends. Everyone loved Ethel.
