94, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife; Martha Maloney Brinkhaus, daughter; Rose Marie Lawson (Donald); step sons, William Ritz (Becky) and John Ritz (Penny), sister; Mary Elsenpeter, granddaughters; Angela Paine (Will) and Ashley Lawson, Step grandchildren; Becky Dawn, Scott, Johnny, Scotty, Jane Marie Ritz.
Richard is truly an American Hero, he fought in World War II in the Army and the Air Force. He was also a member of the 123rd Air National Guard Reserves. He later graduated from both the University of Indiana and the University of Louisville. Richard retired from Ford Motor Company at Fern Valley as an Industrial Engineer. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Richard always believed strongly in his faith of God, Country and Family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Edward Church, 9608 Sue Helen Dr, Louisville, KY 40299, on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10am. Visitation will be held at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 3-8 pm Burial will follow the funeral mass at St. Edward Cemetery.
