Obituary for Carl J. (Carlie) Hadorn

Carl J. (Carlie) Hadorn, 83, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017. His children were at his side at the time of his death.
Carl owned Hadorn’s Bakery on 18th and Vorster from 1954-1977 then moved the business to Bardstown Kentucky in 1977 and in 1998 passed the family business on to his youngest son, Gregory. He attended the St. George School and graduated from Flaget High School in 1953. Carl was a true lover of music. He started playing the saxophone in middle school and from there played piano, guitar and harmonica. Blues and Big Band were his favorite genres’.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Carl A. and Helen E. Hadorn; wife; Barbara Ann Hadorn; sister; Anna Jean Kinnarney, and brother, Donald R.
He is survived by his children, Mark Anthony, Daniel Raymond (Min), Christopher Kevin (Rhonda), Nicholas Steven, Carla Ann Johnson (Wendell), and Gregory Vincent (Kyong); siblings, Ronald S. (Lindy), Linda Farris (Richard) and Jerome F (Laura); sister-in-law, Mary K.; 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be at Noon Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial in North Hardin Memorial Cemetery, Radcliff, KY.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. – Noon Saturday at Highlands.
