Obituary for William H. Morris

Morris, William Harvey,

98,passed away in Birmingham Alabama on November 19, 2017.

He was born December 13, 1919 in Finley,(Campbellsville) Kentucky to Roy Morris and Edna Handley Morris. He was the middle child of 7 children. He was

married to Halline Hedgespeth in July 26, 1941. He proudly served in WWII as a Battalian Mail Carrier in the Pacific. After the war, he returned to work for the Kentucky Transport for over 35 years. He spent most of his life involved in several Baptist Churches, Rockford Lane Baptist and Hurstbourne Baptist

His wife, Halline in 1980. In 1981 he married Ina Mills Coffee. After retirement, he volunteered for the American Red Cross for 15 years. In 2013 he moved to Birmingham Alabama with his daughter. He is survived by his daughter, Julia Morris Peterson, Birmingham AL; Step Daughter, Lindon Coffee, Louisville KY; Step Sons, Bill Coffee (Cindee) and Jack Coffee (Barbara) Louisville KY. Grandsons: Travis and Tyler Peterson; Granddaughters, Reagan, Carree, and Courtney. Several Step-Grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Birdie Morris; brothers Wilson, Leslie, Robert, Oscar and sister, Jane Morris.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 24, 3-7pm at Highlands Funeral Home, Louisville Ky. The funeral Service will be Saturday, November 25, 10:00 a.m., at Highlands Funeral Home. Burial will follow. Thanks to everyone who showed compassionate care in his final days.
