Obituary for Virginia McDonough Ellis
Ellis,
Virginia (McDonough), 98, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017.
Virginia was a U.S. Navy WAVES veteran during WWII, a librarian at Seneca High School for 25 years, a graduate of Berea College and Catherine Spalding College and a member of the Louisville Genealogical Society and the Virginia Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen R. Ellis M.D. and sons, Stephen “Butch” and Michael Ellis.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Ellis Frederick (Greg), Dr. Suzanne Ellis Synhorst (John) and Stephanie Ellis Watkins, (Greg); 12, grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service was private with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berea College.
