age 71, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 5, 1946 to the late Harry and Dolly Howe. She was a graduate of Providence High School in San Antonio and received her Bachelor’s of Social Work from Spalding College. She also received her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Louisville.

Barb devoted her life to compassion, advocacy and justice. She was an MSSW and LCSW in both Kentucky and Indiana. She retired from Parkview Psychiatric Services in 2012 but kept her Social Worker License after retirement and regularly took Black Studies classes at U of L. Barb was active with Louisville Showing up for Racial Justice, Stand Up Sunday and The Fairness Campaign. In addition to her pursuit of social justice, she spent much of her free time training and competing her Border Collies with the A.K.C. Barb also volunteered with WAGS, taking therapy dogs to visit patients in local hospitals. She was proud supporter of U of L Women's Basketball. Barb was a spunky and inspiring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived today by her wife of 36 years, Vicki Gili Catlin; children, Gerald A. “Gerry” Biasiolli, Jr. (Jamie Dockery), Susan Biasiolli (Matt Weber); their father, Gerald A. Biasiolli, Sr. (Sue); grandchildren, Griffin and Gabe Weber; brother, Norman Howe (Beverly); and her four legged babies, Punch and Charlie.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Louisville, KY 40205.

Memorial Visitation will be from 1 - 4 PM on Friday at Highlands.
