Obituary for Celeste C. "“Lessie”" Kiesler

Celeste  C.  "“Lessie”"  Kiesler
86, died Saturday, October 14, 2017. She was born in Louisville on November 12, 1930 to the late Frank and Celeste Schaefer. She was a graduate of Presentation Academy, attended Nazareth College, a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a lifelong member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. In the past, Lessie was involved with the Holy Name Chorus, Bellarmine Women’s Council, and Queens Daughters. She loved to play golf and was a 2-time member of the hole-in-one club. She also loved tennis, bridge and to read books.
She is preceeded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Jack Clines, brother, Frank Schaefer and daughter, Carol Sue Kiesler.
Lessie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herman H. “Skip” Kiesler, Jr., and children, Anne Ward (John), Barbara Stein (David), Greg Kiesler and Ellen Wilson (Paul). Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Chris Ward, Keith Ward (Kerri), David Ward, Leah Cunnningham (Harold), Elizabeth Stein, Andrew Stein (Kristen), Emily Corsentino (Kenny), Rachel Kiesler, Matt Kiesler, Kristina McCormick (Patrick), Stephanie Oeswein (Alex) and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers Bob Schaefer (Martha), Jack Schaefer (Rosanne) and sister in-law Chile Schaefer.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 18 at St. Raphael the Archangel Church, 2141 Lancashire Avenue with private burial later.
Visistation will be from from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Raphael chapter of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
