Melissa Ann Garland, 35, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at her home. She was a student at National American University. Melissa loved her family and they meant everything to her. She was funny, loving and beautiful and everyone loved being around her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edith Cornelison, Lloyd Hall and George and Betty Garland; aunt, Debbie Hayes; uncles, Danny Garland, Billy Garland and Jimmy Garland.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Tammy and Mike Phillips; father, Harry Garland (Sherie); brothers, Jonathan Garland (Angie) and Jarred Phillips and grandparents, Virgil and Billie Phillips; nephews, Nathanial, Isaiah and Gabriel and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 pm. Monday at Highlands.
