Obituary for Glenn Knight

Glenn Knight
age 66, of Louisville, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was a graduate of Waggener High School, received his bachelors from University of Louisville School of Business, and MBA from Bellarmine University. During his time at University of Louisville he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
Glenn was a lifelong resident of the Saint Matthews community. He served as the former mayor of Norbourne Estates, Executive Director of St. Matthews Chamber of Commerce, and as the Real Estate Broker for Insuramax Realty. Glenn enjoyed many years of coaching at St. Matthews Little League and Our Lady of Lourdes, and was an avid U of L fan. He was an outgoing man, who never met a stranger, and would go the extra mile for anyone he met. He could brighten any room with his smile and personality. He cherished his family, close friendships, but most of all his loving wife of 43 years, Karen. He will be missed by all.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Knight Jr.; grandparents, Norman and Vernelle McLellan.
He is survived today by his wife, Karen; mother, Barbara McLellan Knight; son, Brian Knight (Megan); daughter, Stephanie Embry (Colin); granddaughters, Callie and Ella Embry; uncle, Linden McLellan (Betty); sister-in-law, Connie Fowler (Alan); brother-in-laws, Mike Moore (Barbara), John Moore; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
His Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd. Louisville, KY 40222.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 2 - 8 PM at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Louisville, KY 40205.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity High School, Assumption High School, or a charity of your choice.
