Obituary for Doris Mae McKiernan

age 91, of Louis- ville, entered the land
of many colors on
Thursday, September
21, 2017. Born Oc- tober 23, 1925, to the
late Thomas and May
Hofelich Carroll, Do- ris was a graduate of
Holy Rosary Acad- emy. She and her late
husband, Bob McKi- ernan married on July
1, 1950, and would later have four children who
survive her: Ceci Maguire (Kevin), Tim (Ter- ry), Bridget Kueber (Scott Trager), and Terry
(Brenda).
The McKiernans moved to the Hikes Point
area in late 1964 and joined St. Martha Parish.
Doris volunteered at the school and later be- came librarian, serving until she left in January
1978 to care for Bob until his death in Febru- ary, 1979. Doris’ grandchildren, Megan Ma- guire McGrath (Craig), Erin Maguire-Osting
(Drew), Kiernan Maguire, Greg McKiernan
(Laura Smith), Patrick Kueber (Sharnei), Cait- lin Maguire (Zane Smith), Derrick McKiernan,
Kyle Kueber (Jin), Kelsey McKiernan, Allison
McKiernan, and Andra Kueber brightened her
life. She enjoyed visits with her great-grand- children, Rory Mae and Declan McGrath and
Bella Lucas.
In addition to her parents and husband, she
was preceded in death by her siblings Tom,
Don, and Patricia Carroll. She is survived to- day by her children, eleven grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren, and in-laws; Blanche Car- roll, Ann Flaherty, and Ken McKiernan; numer- ous nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and
nieces also survive.
Her funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM
on Monday, September 25 at St. Martha Catho- lic Church, 2825 Klondike Ln, Louisville, KY
40218.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 24
from 1 - 8 PM at Highlands Funeral Home,
3331 Taylorsville Rd. Louisville, KY 40205.
