Obituary for Joseph Norbert "Neb" Hall

Joseph Norbert "Neb" Hall
HALL,
Joseph Norbert “Neb”, 88, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 quietly with family by his side at the Episcopal Church Home. He was a former resident of Magnolia Springs in Louisville.
Joe was born in 1928 in Bardstown, KY to Joseph Richard and Martha Smith Hall. He was a graduate of Bardstown High School, a Catholic by faith, and an Air Force Veteran. He had a friendly nature and a wry sense of humor. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Patricia “Patsy” Mathews and moved to Louisville. They quickly began a family that grew to eight children who all survive him, Joseph (Jeannie), Linda Wathen (J.R.), Ellen Tucker (Kevin), Tom, John (Colleen), Donna Weyler (Tim), Mary Toombs, and Catherine Harrison (George).
After retiring as a machinist by trade from Alcoa Aluminum, he and Patsy moved back to Bardstown. Joe was a creative man and it seemed that he could make or repair anything. In addition, he was an excellent woodworker, an avid gardener, and enjoyed bird watching.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bardstown where he and Patsy volunteered on the Bereavement Committee. He was a master at setting tables and chairs.
In addition to his wife of 57 years and his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lavern Corbett; and brothers, John R. “Bud”, Marlon, and Gerald “Jerry” Hall.
In addition to his children, he is survived by 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his dog, Miss June Bug.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. There will be a private inurnment.
