Louis Bernard Allgeier, 87, from Jeffersontown, Ky, passed away peacefully on Friday September 8th, 2017. He was a decorated Korean War Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. Louie was a lifelong member of the VFW post 3636 and 1170 and the DAV. He retired from the U.S. Post Office. Preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Catherine Allgeier; two brothers; five sisters; son in law, Garry Snow and granddaughter, Amy Allgeier. Louie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Mary Lee “Honey” (Newton); sons, Keith (Nathalie), Ben (Joanie); daughters, Vicki (Alan), Lee (Steve), Kathleen (Larry); grandchildren, Tyler, Keith, Erin, Alexis; great grandchildren, Baylee; brothers, Henry and Nick; sisters JoAnn and Lois. His Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Sept 13th at 10am, at St. Edward Church, 9610 Sue Helen Dr, Jeffersontown, Ky; with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Expressions of sympathy may bew made to St. Vincent De paul
