HARRIS,
Martha Ackerman, 93, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 surrounded by her devoted family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, John T. “Jack” Harris; and son, Charles Kelly Harris.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Hedgspeth (Larry); sons, John B. Harris and Steven J. Harris; and grandchildren, Kelly Elizabeth Hedgspeth, and John N. Harris and Jennifer N. Harris.
Martha had a keen mind and deep love of learning. She attended Presentation Academy, graduating at 16 years of age and attended Nazareth College before going on to work for the L & N Railroad. A devout Catholic, she cherished attending and serving at Our
Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for over 50 years. She will be remembered by her loved ones for her quick wit, intellectual prowess, and her compassionate heart. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Her funeral Mass will be noon, Monday, July 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckinridge Lane with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes.
