Joyce (Bensing) Spaulding died on June 28, 2017. She was preceded by her husband of 61 years, Reverend John Spaulding and her daughter, Angie. She is survived by her children Rick Lawson (Diane), Cheryl Grieb (Tom), Kendall Spaulding (Janet), and Shelley Friebert (Dale); nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Bensing (Norma).

Joyce loved Jesus and served Him faithfully, alongside her husband, through the United Methodist Church. She loved her family deeply and cherished her many friends.

Joyce was active in any number of church and community organizations. She and John were foster parents, caring for some 25 children. Later Joyce would serve on the Foster Care Review Board.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2000 Douglass Blvd., Louisville. A visitation will take place beginning at 10:00.
