Paul A. Ayres, 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away, Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Arrangements are at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY 40205. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 29th from 2 until 7 p.m. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 North Dixie Boulevard, Radcliff, Kentucky 40160.

Paul was born in 1951 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He graduated from Southwest High School in St. Louis, Missouri and attended Florida College in Temple Terrace, Florida. He joined the Navy in 1972 and served his country for 3 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon, on February 9, 1974 and they were blessed with 4 children. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord as a gospel preacher for 40 years in Florida, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia, and Kentucky. His recent work included working as an elder at Taylorsville Road Church of Christ. He loved St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and spending time with his family.

Paul is survived by his wife Sharon of 43 years, 4 children, Shaun (Katrina), Brian (Carrie), Cara (Jonathan), Paul (Krystine), and 10 grandchildren, Briana, Zachary, Caden, Carter, Isabell, Ava, Jovi,Gavin, Blake, and Isaac. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and JoAnn.
