EDELEN,
Teresa Irene, 67, of Louisville, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017.
Born in Mt. Vernon, IL to Ray and Evelyn Shoemaker, she was a retired teacher of special needs children at Alfred Binet School and a devoted volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul and 40 Days for Life. Teresa was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church.
She is survived by her parents; children, Stephanie Huff (Josh), Travis Edelen (Christina), and Tyler Edelen; grandchildren, Tessa and Ellie Huff and Ava and William Edelen; siblings, Donna Dunn (Tom), JoAnn Jacobs (Jack), Danny Shoemaker (Doreen), David Shoemaker (Diane), Eddie Shoemaker (Betty), Annette Bergamini (Joe), Pat Shoemaker (Renee), Mary Evelyn Thomas (Larry), Rita Shade (Jack), Kelley Inge (Ron), and Jimmy Shoemaker (Denisa); and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Dr. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.

Teresa was an amazing mother, grandmother, a devoted and loving daughter, sister, aunt, and godmother. She touched countless lives through her teaching, service, and friendships. She was known for her humble nature, her wit, and wisdom. She will be greatly missed and cherished by all.
