Obituary for Arthur Michael "Mike" Sloan

Arthur Michael "Mike" Sloan
SLOAN,
Arthur “Mike”, 66, the world’s greatest Rolling Stones Fan, passed away peacefully May 7, 2017 at Baptist Health Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 12, 1950 in Lexington, KY to the late Ralph Gilbert “Gilly” and Wilma T. Sloan, he was a Seneca High School graduate and worked 25 years for Convenient Food Mart beginning at the age of 15. He retired from LG&E after 27 years of service and worked at Waterford Place Apartments as a handyman for several years. His quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed among those who knew him. He never met a stranger and loved scratch off lottery tickets and jigsaw puzzles. Mike was generous and always a true gentleman. His favorite place was Destin, FL where he and Karen spent many summer vacations.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, the former Karen Hicks; daughters, Michelle Vest (David), Angie Stanley (Jason), Julie Greenwell (Adam), and Michelle Armstrong (Derek); siblings, Geary (Kiyomi) and Tom (Thuy); grandchildren, Mary Grace, Lilly, Chandler, Callie, Skylar, Graham, Sloan, and DeAmber; brothers-in-law, Norman (Jane), Brian (Barbara), and Evan Hicks (Kim); the mother of his three daughters, Mary Kaye Chandler; and his furry son, Jagger.
Memorial visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the KY Humane Society (Jagger) or the American Liver Foundation.
