Sulzer,
Douglas Webb, 77, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 20, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
A native of Louisville, he was born to the late Elijah and Virginia Webb Sulzer.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was a leader of many roles in worship and congregational life and a former member of Fenner Memorial Lutheran where he wrote and was the voice of Dial. A. Story.
Mr. Sulzer was a U.S. Army veteran, a third generation painting contractor, a real estate broker, and a retired employee of Rohm and Haas.
He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed volunteering at the Iroquois Amphitheater, schools his daughters and grandchildren attended and being Grandpa’s Taxi Service.
In addition to being an avid UofL fan, he enjoyed playing and coaching softball, bowling and traveling with family and friends.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Yvonne Bruner Sulzer; daughters, Kristin McDonald (Scott) and Sarah Fain (T.C.); grandchildren, Rylie, Charlie, Katie, Benjamin, and Noelle and sister, Darlene Wildt (Roy).
His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2304 Crums Lane with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. and from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Monday at his church.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
