William Grether, 87, of Louisville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Cornelia Grether, Jr.; a daughter, Sharon Barry; brother, Emil Grether, III, and his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Mae Davidson Grether.

He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves, Gideon's International and life-long member of East Audubon Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory his children, Gary Grether (Cindi), Brenda Grether, Wayne Grether (Angie) and Patti Grether Pate; sister, Mary Cullen; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who loved him.

His service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 7th, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with private burial. Visitation will be from 1- 8 p.m., Thursday at Highlands.
