Avare,
Jack Gene, 83, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, and formerly worked at United Furniture, Jewish Hospital and the Naval Ordnance. Jack was a member of Southeast Christian Church and attended Lifebridge Christian Church. He was a life member of Robinson Lodge #266 and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dot (Blandford) Avare; daughter, Lesa Patenaude (George); son, Rick Avare (Diane); grandchildren, Jordan, Micaela, Dillon and Ryan Avare.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with Rev. Bob Russell and Rev. Dave Cordrey officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Highlands.
