Vincent Allen Hamilton
Hamilton,
Vincent Allen, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away at his home February 27, 2017 at the age of 53.
A native of Louisville, Vince attended Our Lady of Lourdes grade school, St. Xavier High School, University of KY for his undergrad degree in finance, and University of Louisville for his Master’s in Business. He was a member of the St. Xavier golf team for four years and lettered four years on the UK golf team, earning All American and All SEC academic honors. Vince is still highly recognized as one of the best amateur golfers in the state.
Vince was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was an account executive for the Underwriters Insurance Group for the past twenty four years. At Big Spring Country Club, he holds the course record with a 63 and won eleven club championships. The club championship has been named “The Vince Hamilton Championship” in his honor.
Vince’s passions were his family-especially his children, his friends and the game of golf. He had an incredible gift of making people listen when he spoke, which made him the ultimate coach of many kids and adults throughout his life. He was a loving father who traveled all across the country taking his kids to golf tournaments. His efforts in coaching and supporting his children’s dreams were where his passions lay for many of years. Combined, Vince and his two children have been a part of seven high school state championships. His daughter is a member of the Notre Dame golf team and his son has followed in his footsteps playing golf at the University of Kentucky, where he is a third-generation student-athlete at UK.
Vince’s family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kommor, Hosparus, and all the nurses that cared for him in his last days.
He is preceded in death by his father, Allen Hamilton.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty five years, Kim; daughter, Maddie Rose, 20; son, Allen Patrick, 18; mother, Patricia Hargadon Hamilton; sister, Linda Hamilton O’Hare; and many friendships he truly cherished.
