Obituary for Albert "Al" Thomas Kittner

Albert "Al" Thomas  Kittner
KITTNER,
Albert "Al" Thomas, 80, of Louisville, KY passed away at his home with loved ones by his side on February 4, 2017. Al was born on January 27, 1937, in Beaver Falls, PA, the son of the late Margaret and Emil Kittner. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School and joined the United States Marine Corps. He then played football for Geneva College and graduated with a B.S. degree.

Al moved to Dallas, TX and became a Commercial Real Estate Broker. In February 1973, he married Jean Lukins Kittner, of Louisville, KY. He was passionate about caring for his family. His positive attitude, magnetic personality, and love of life were infectious. He made everything fun. Al enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He was a wonderful husband and beloved dad and grandpap.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jean; daughters, Christy Kittner Arendale (Robert) and Cindy Kittner; son, Michael Kittner (Nicole); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hudson, and Johnny Arendale, Colin McDonough; brothers, Norman Kittner (Marie) and Donnie Kittner (Dolly); a large extended family and many friends.

His funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 443 S. 5th St. with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.

Memorial donations may be made to Cathedral of the Assumption or charity of your choice.

The family is deeply grateful for Al’s private caregivers: Mary, Corinne, Sandra, Dorothy, Tonia, and Donita as well as support from Hosparus.
