BIRD,
Robert "Bob" Allen, passed away peacefully February 5, 2017. He was 73 years old and born and raised in Louisville. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Murray State University and after graduating he was drafted and spent two years in the Army.
He was the Director of the Kentucky Industries for the blind and before that he worked with the less fortunate in other capacities.
He was preceded in death by his father, William D. Bird.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, the former Diane Steans; sons, William (Liz), David and Kenny Bird; his mother, Mary I. Bird; and grandchildren, Eliza, Emmy, and Leroy.
His funeral service will be at noon Thursday, February 9 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Highlands.
