Whelan,
William M., Jr., 77, of Prospect, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
A native of Owensboro, KY, Bill graduated from OCHS and the University of Dayton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, retired from Ford Motor Co. and a member of Church of the Epiphany, Ford Salaried Retiree Club and Glen Oaks Country Club.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith Mattingly Whelan; sons, William M. “Bill” Whelan, III Prospect, KY. and Michael K. Whelan, Sacramento, CA.; daughter, Jennifer W. Schmidt (Eric), Frisco TX. ; brother, Robert H. “Bob” Whelan (Sue), Chicago, IL; sister, Betty W. Jolley (Bill), Kansas City, MO. and grandchildren, Hayden Whelan, and Creighton and Donovan Schmidt.
His funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at Church of the Epiphany, 914 Old Harrods Creek Rd. Louisville, KY 40223.
Visitation will be from 8:30 – 10:00 am Friday at the church.
