NAHSTOLL, Mary Ellen, passed away on April 1, 2016.

Born October 18, 1923 in Sioux City, Iowa, she moved to Louisville, KY at an early age and lived there most of her life. She worked in the cashier’s department at Sears and Roebucks for over twenty years. Spending her golden years In Sarasota, FL and Richmond, VA, she spent much of her time with family and friends doing volunteer work, traveling, and playing bingo. Mary Ellen was an avid reader who enjoyed many diverse authors, storylines and anything written about the Kennedys. She was a staunch democrat who particularly relished participating in the election process by working at the voting polls and canvassing precinct voters. She enjoyed keeping up with current events by watching political talk shows, local and national news.

Mary was preceded in her death by her husband Leo F. Nahstoll, Jr.

She is survived by her three sons, Richard and wife, Dana, of Richmond, VA, Joseph and wife, Stacie, of Louisville, KY and Martin and wife, Anitamarie, of St. Louis, MO. Six grandchildren Christopher, Kyle, Bo (Richard), Madison, Connor (Joseph), and Nicholas (Martin) and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Dunn and his wife, Nina.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Bardstown Road at Lancashire Avenue, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
