Yates, James Edwin ”Ed” , 57, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at his home. Born in Shelbyville, KY. , he was a graduate of Bellarmine College and retired from G.E. Ed was also a referee assigner for the U.S.S.F. and a member of Ascension Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Gibson. Ed is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ann Yates; sons, Rob Yates (Jennifer) and Nick Yates; father, Edwin Yates; sisters, Shirley Friedrich (Pete) and Cathy Maxwell (Dave) and one granddaughter, Emma. His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Ascension Catholic Church, 4600 Lynbrook Dr. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Church of the Ascension
