Obituary for Alda "May" vonAllmen

VONALLMEN, Alda “May”, 88, of Louisville, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at Treyton Oak Towers.
May was a homemaker and volunteer at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital and at the lunchroom of Portland Christian School. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May was a true prayer warrior and a lifelong member of Portland Avenue Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Schott and R.H. vonAllmen; and a daughter, Ruby May Schott.
May is survived by her children, Fred W. Schott (Donna) and Martha J. Watkins; brother, James Marr (Katie); sister, Geneva Jones; grandchildren, Rebecca Rucker (Don), Laura Rickley (Mark), Melissa Hiatt (Tim), Emily Decker (Dave), Jon Self (Tracy), Rodney Self (Stephanie); and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with private burial following at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Tuesday at Highlands.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Tretyon Oak Towers for their loving and gentle care of May in her final days.
Memorial gifts may be made in May’s name to Portland Christian School.
